Communism Alert from A Friend in Ireland Today

RED ALERT
SAVE OUR IRISH CONSTITUTION

the NO Vote must come out strongly to Protect our Constitutional Rights
Under the Guise of ABOLISHING THE SEANAD POLITICIANS ARE:
ABOLISHING the RIGHT of the People To VOTE on EU LEGISLATION and abolish the President's power to refer Unconstitutional Bills to People
GRABBING SOLE POWER TO DECLARE A STATE OF EMERGENCY Read the Referendum Commission Booklet pages 5 and 6 and Michael McDowell's legal opinion on the suspension of all our rights
If the Dail gets the sole power to declare for instance: an "Economic"State of Emergency all our rights can be suspended in the interest of saving the economy. Our right to social welfare payments, student's grants, old age pension, hospital care, carers allowance, child benefit, medicines, etc. The Right to Life of each citizen, elderly, disabled and the unborn, Family Rights, including property rights are all guaranteed in the Lisbon Treaty.
The Lisbon Treaty guarantees can abolished by the Dail if the Referendum is passed.

EU Justice Commissioner Reding stated recently that she wants The Charter of Fundamental Rights of the EU to be fully implemented across the Eurozone. Article 52 of the Charter gives the EU the right to place a limitation on all our rights, "if necessary", and to meet the "objectives of general interest recognised by the Union"(EU) She also stated "Experts" have been going toIreland "since 2011 making tailored recommendations on judicial reform"
and,  she declares, "whenever a national court upholds EU law, it acts as a ‘European Union Court" (March 2013)
WHAT ABOUT all our (other) PROPERTY RIGHTS?

THE IRISH GOVERNMENT HAS already AGREED TO FUND THE EUROPEAN STABILITY MECHANISM. This means that Ireland will have to contribute vast sums of money when demanded by the EU (SEE EMS TREATY)
Where will IRISH POLITICIANS get the money to meet EU demands? PROPERTY TAX HAS already BEEN IMPOSED. Water tax is to be implemented. Pension Plans have already been raided in IRELAND. Austerity measures are causing widespread hardship.
 The Abolition of Private Property, Nationalisation of  the Banks and the destruction of The Family are the main principles of Communism;
Banks have been nationalised and Family Homes in Ireland are being repossessed and The Family is being undermined by Government policy.
The Government can and will access YOUR PERSONAL SAVINGS ACCOUNTS in the same way that the Cypriot Government has done

Don't give the DAIL total power to declare a STATE ofEMERGENCY.

Just a thought...

"Not to oppose error is to approve it, and not to defend the truth is to suppress it" - Pope St. Felix III

The Sensing of Heresies...

I sense the influence of Edward Schillebeeckx in what is coming out of either real or fabricated comments from Rome and some American cities....In case you have not read Schillebeeckx, which I had to do in theology years ago, he was the extremely liberal theologian who wanted collegiality as against a powerful, infallible pope. He greatly influenced at least two of the Vatican II documents, both of which are vague, and in some minds, departures from previous teaching, Lumen Gentium and Dei Verbum. He also influenced later writers, like Fr. McBrien of NDU in his idea that the Risen Christ in His Glorified Body was not an important idea to teach. As well as faulty Christology,  most of his errors have to do with the nature of the Church and the nature of priesthood.

The latter person, below, as well, followed this idea of skipping Tradition and basing new ideas of the priesthood and the nature of the Church directly on the Bible. Of course, these are Protestant ideas.

........also the influence of Father Jacques Dupuis,

I.  On the sole and universal salvific mediation of Jesus Christ
1.  It must be firmly believed that Jesus Christ, the Son of God made man, crucified and risen, is the sole and universal mediator of salvation for all humanity.[2]
2.  It must also be firmly believed that Jesus of Nazareth, Son of Mary and only Saviour of the world, is the Son and Word of the Father.[3] For the unity of the divine plan of salvation centred in Jesus Christ, it must also be held that the salvific action of the Word is accomplished in and through Jesus Christ, the Incarnate Son of the Father, as mediator of salvation for all humanity.[4] It is therefore contrary to the Catholic faith not only to posit a separation between the Word and Jesus, or between the Word’s salvific activity and that of Jesus, but also to maintain that there is a salvific activity of the Word as such in his divinity, independent of the humanity of the Incarnate Word.[5]

II.  On the unicity and completeness of revelation of Jesus Christ
3.  It must be firmly believed that Jesus Christ is the mediator, the fulfilment and the completeness of revelation.[6] It is therefore contrary to the Catholic faith to maintain that revelation in Jesus Christ (or the revelation of Jesus Christ) is limited, incomplete or imperfect. Moreover, although full knowledge of divine revelation will be had only on the day of the Lord’s coming in glory, the historical revelation of Jesus Christ offers everything necessary for man’s salvation and has no need of completion by other religions.[7]
4.  It is consistent with Catholic doctrine to hold that the seeds of truth and goodness that exist in other religions are a certain participation in truths contained in the revelation of or in Jesus Christ.[8] However, it is erroneous to hold that such elements of truth and goodness, or some of them, do not derive ultimately from the source-mediation of Jesus Christ.[9]

III.  On the universal salvific action of the Holy Spirit
5.  The Church’s faith teaches that the Holy Spirit, working after the resurrection of Jesus Christ, is always the Spirit of Christ sent by the Father, who works in a salvific way in Christians as well as non-Christians.[10] It is therefore contrary to the Catholic faith to hold that the salvific action of the Holy Spirit extends beyond the one universal salvific economy of the Incarnate Word.[11]

IV.  On the orientation of all human beings to the Church
6. It must be firmly believed that the Church is sign and instrument of salvation for all people.[12] It is contrary to the Catholic faith to consider the different religions of the world as ways of salvation complementary to the Church.[13]
7. According to Catholic doctrine, the followers of other religions are oriented to the Church and are all called to become part of her.[14]

V.  On the value and salvific function of the religious traditions
8.  In accordance with Catholic doctrine, it must be held that «whatever the Spirit brings about in human hearts and in the history of peoples, in cultures and religions, serves as a preparation for the Gospel (cf. Dogmatic Constitution Lumen gentium, 16)».[15] It is therefore legitimate to maintain that the Holy Spirit accomplishes salvation in non-Christians also through those elements of truth and goodness present in the various religions; however, to hold that these religions, considered as such, are ways of salvation, has no foundation in Catholic theology, also because they contain omissions, insufficiencies and errors[16] regarding fundamental truths about God, man and the world.
Furthermore, the fact that the elements of truth and goodness present in the various world religions may prepare peoples and cultures to receive the salvific event of Jesus Christ does not imply that the sacred texts of these religions can be considered as complementary to the Old Testament, which is the immediate preparation for the Christ event.[17]

The British Sacred Cow

After WWII, there was a surge of nationalism in Great Britain, which proved to be a surge in socialism. What has happened in this country, happened across Europe, eventually, leading to the European Union.

The Sacred Cow of the British to this day is the heresy of socialism, condemned by every pope since the first half of the 19th century. Maybe I should call socialism the Golden Calf, as it is idolized.

Just as certain immigrant populations benefited from the Democratic Party in the States, leading to mindless support of the Party of Death, so too, many Catholics still feel that must support Labour, or other openly socialist parties in Great Britain for similar sentimental reasons.

This support blatantly contradicts reason and the long series of excellent teachings from great popes. The confusion of many lies in the misunderstanding of the role of the individual in society. I have written many posts on Gramsci, who understood over 80 years ago that the great enemy of the collective was and still is, the Catholic Church.

Why? Why is it that the leading professional radical who pushed for the kulturkampf we see victorious today over Christianity could see that the Church's stand against both socialism and communism was the only true voice of reason? Why is it that so many Catholics in Great Britain cannot or will not see the dangers inherent in a social system which changed the focus of the government existing and serving the person to the ideal that the person serves the government? Why do great popes say things like this?

“(Socialism) is based nevertheless on a theory of human society peculiar to itself and irreconcilable with true Christianity. Religious socialism, Christian socialism, are contradictory terms; no one can be at the same time a good Catholic and a true socialist.” (Encyclical Quadragesimo Anno, May 15, 1931. n. 120)

All socialist ideologies of whatever flavor undermine the family, the authority of parents, the obedience of the child to parents, the right of all parents to be the first educators of their children, and the identity of the person in society.

Socialism denies at least these three main tenets of Catholic teaching; one, the right to private property. Here is one pope, Leo XIII, on this subject.  The Catholic Church has upheld the idea that natural law supports the acquiring of and the keeping of private property.

Lured, in fine, by the greed of present goods, which is ‘the root of all evils, which some coveting have erred from the faith’ (1 Tim. 6:10.3), they assail the right of property sanctioned by natural law; and by a scheme of horrible wickedness, while they seem desirous of caring for the needs and satisfying the desires of all men, they strive to seize and hold in common whatever has been acquired either by title of lawful inheritance, or by labor of brain and hands, or by thrift in one's mode of life.” (Encyclical Quod Apostolici Muneris, December 28, 1878, n. 1)

Two, socialism denies the sanctity of the Kingdom of God, and replaces it with the utopianism of the kingdom of man....Here is Pope St. Pius X on this point.

“But stranger still, alarming and saddening at the same time, are the audacity and frivolity of men who call themselves Catholics and dream of re-shaping society under such conditions, and of establishing on earth, over and beyond the pale of the Catholic Church, ‘the reign of love and justice’ ... What are they going to produce? ... A mere verbal and chimerical construction in which we shall see, glowing in a jumble, and in seductive confusion, the words Liberty, Justice, Fraternity, Love, Equality, and human exultation, all resting upon an ill-understood human dignity. It will be a tumultuous agitation, sterile for the end proposed, but which will benefit the less Utopian exploiters of the people. Yes, we can truly say that the Sillon, its eyes fixed on a chimera, brings Socialism in its train.” (Apostolic Letter Notre Charge Apostolique ["Our Apostolic Mandate"] to the French Bishops, August 25, 1910, condemning the movement Le Sillon).

Three, socialism denies the identity of the individual as having a soul as well as a body, by emphasizing the material world. Blessed John Paul II stated this: (my boldface type)...

...we have to add that the fundamental error of socialism is anthropological in nature. Socialism considers the individual person simply as an element, a molecule within the social organism, so that the good of the individual is completely subordinated to the functioning of the socio-economic mechanism. Socialism likewise maintains that the good of the individual can be realized without reference to his free choice, to the unique and exclusive responsibility which he exercises in the face of good or evil. Man is thus reduced to a series of social relationships, and the concept of the person as the autonomous subject of moral decision disappears, the very subject whose decisions build the social order. From this mistaken conception of the person there arise both a distortion of law, which defines the sphere of the exercise of freedom, and an opposition to private property.” (Encyclical Centesimus Annus − On the 100th anniversary of Pope Leo XIII's Rerum Novarum, May 1, 1991,n. 13)

If you are a Catholic and a socialist, you are not thinking like a Catholic. One needs to repent of holding on to false ideologies of all kinds, if one is going to follow Christ in the teachings of His Church. One cannot pick and choose, like the proverbial "cafeteria Catholic".  The Encyclicals quoted here, and others, must be taken seriously as part of the teaching of the Church from the highest level-the Chair of Peter.

One is putting one's soul in peril by thinking one can be a socialist and a Catholic.

One more quotation from the saintly Pope Emeritus, Benedict.

In the end, the claim that just social structures would make works of charity superfluous masks a materialist conception of man: the mistaken notion that man can live ‘by bread alone’ (Mt 4:4; cf. Dt 8:3) − a conviction that demeans man and ultimately disregards all that is specifically human.” (Encyclical Deus Caritas Est,December 25, 2005, n. 28)

Moses heard the sound of revelry in the camp as he came down from talking with God. What he saw was a reversion to hedonism and materialism, the roots of idolatry. Some of the reasons the Israelites sinned and made the Golden Calf were that they no longer wanted to trust in God, to wait on God, to endure suffering. These sinners wanted security. They wanted to reduce Moses' emphasis on the spiritual life to a focus only on the here and now. These reasons push people into idolizing socialism. Trusting in a government to provide all is a false religious impetus. God is God, not Big Brother. Big Brother takes the place of Providence.

I hope some seriously re-examine their beliefs in this flawed and non-Catholic system of government.

Pray, reflect, think, act....repent.

Feast Day of Blessed Columba Marmion

He was one of the foundress of Tyburn's spiritual directors.

Bl. COLUMBA MARMION

Bl. Columba Marmion was born in Dublin, Ireland, on 1 April 1858 to an Irish father (William Marmion) and a French mother (Herminie Cordier). Given the name Joseph Aloysius at birth, he entered the Dublin diocesan seminary in 1874 and completed his theological studies at the College of the Propagation of the Faith in Rome. He was ordained a priest at St Agatha of the Goths on 16 June 1881.
He dreamed of becoming a missionary monk in Australia, but was won over by the liturgical atmosphere of the newly founded Abbey of Maredsous in Belgium, which he visited on his return to Ireland in 1881. His Bishop asked him to wait and appointed him curate in Dundrum, then professor at the major seminary in Clonliffe (1882-86). As the chaplain at a convent of Redemptorist nuns and at a women's prison, he learned to guide souls, to hear confessions, to counsel and to help the dying.
In 1886 he received his Bishop's permission to become a monk. He voluntarily renounced a promising ecclesiastical career and was welcomed at Maredsous by Abbot Placidus Wolter. His novitiate, under the iron rule of Dom Benoît D'Hondt and among a group of young novices (when he was almost 30), proved all the more difficult because he had to change habits, culture and language. But saying that he had entered the monastery to learn obedience, he let himself be moulded by monastic discipline, community life and choral prayer until his solemn profession on 10 February 1891.
He received his first "obedience" or mission when he was assigned to the small group of monks sent to found the Abbey of Mont César in Louvain. Although it distressed him, he gave his all to it for the sake of obedience. There he was entrusted with the task of Prior beside Abbot de Kerchove, and served as spiritual director and professor to all the young monks studying philosophy or theology in Louvain.
He started to devote more time to preaching retreats in Belgium and in the United Kingdom, and gave spiritual direction to many communities, particularly those of Carmelite nuns. He become the confessor of Mons. Joseph Mercier, the future Cardinal, and the two formed a lasting friendship.
During this period, Maredsous Abbey was governed by Dom Hildebrand de Hemptinne, its second Abbot, who in 1893 would become, at the request of Leo XIII, the first Primate of the Benedictine Confederation. His frequent stays in Rome required that he be replaced as Abbot of Maredsous, and it is Dom Columba Marmion who was elected the third Abbot of Maredsous on 28 September 1909, receiving the abbatial blessing on 3 October. He was placed at the head of a community of more than 100 monks, with a humanities college, a trade school and a farm to run. He also had to maintain a well-established reputation for research on the sources of the faith and to continue editing various publications, including the Revue Bénédictine.
His ongoing care of the community did not stop Dom Marmion from preaching retreats or giving regular spiritual direction. He was asked to help the Anglican monks of Caldey when they wished to convert to Catholicism. His greatest ordeal was the First World War. His decision to send the young monks to Ireland so that they could complete their education in peace led to additional work, dangerous trips and many anxieties. It also caused misunderstandings and conflicts between the two generations within this community shaken by the war. German lay brothers, who had been present since the monastery's foundation by Beuron Abbey, had to be sent home (despite the Benedictine vow of stability) at the outbreak of hostilities. After the war was over, a small group of monks was urgently dispatched to the Monastery of the Dormition in Jerusalem to replace the German monks expelled by the British authorities. Finally, the Belgian monasteries were separated from the Beuron Congregation, and in 1920 the Belgian Congregation of the Annunciation was set up with Maredsous, Mont César and St André of Zevenkerken.
His sole comfort during this period was preaching and giving spiritual direction. His secretary, Dom Raymond Thibaut, prepared his spiritual conferences for publication: Christ the Life of the Soul (1917), Christ in His Mysteries (1919) and Christ the Ideal of the Monk (1922). He was already considered an outstanding Abbot (Queen Elisabeth of Belgium consulted with him at length) and a great spiritual author.
He died during a flu epidemic on 30 January 1923.
