Poem for February 2nd-Candlemass Poem 2014

Work while we have the light.

For the darkness grows around us.

Work while we can share the light.

For the darkness steals into the hearts of
men and women who shun the light.

Work while we have the light.

Visit those in darkness again and again,
until they shut the doors of their hearts.
Then, pray.

Work while we have the light.

For God is sifting humanity to separate
the wheat from the chaff. The cries of
million of infants batter heaven.

Work while we have the light.

For we have been given the Light
of the World, Jesus Christ, Who
leads us on and never deserts us.

Work while we have the light.

For we do not want God to show us the
one who could have been brought along
with us, but we said or did nothing.

Work while we have the light.

The pearl of great price is in our hands
to share, to love, to cherish now and
for all eternity.

If we work while we have the light,
then, God will say, Well done, good and faithful servant: because thou hast been
faithful over a few things, I will place thee over many things:
enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
