Voris is spot on. Contraception is THE problem in the Pro-Life movement.

Mic'd Up "LIVE from the March for Life 2014"

The more I talk with and listen to the leaders of the Pro-Life movement in America, and listen to the leaders of the Pro-Life Movement in Great Britain, and knowing myself the huge fall-out of Birthright and Right to Life years ago, I know that until the issue of the contraceptive mentality is dealt with in the society, we shall not win the pro-life issues.

First of all, if Catholics are contracepting, they are in mortal sin and not in grace and cannot be leaders in the Pro-Life movement. If these same people are not contracepting but think it is ok for our Protestant brethren, they are also in disobedience.

Second, if they will not stop legistlation which passes out of supports contraception, these same leaders are contributing to the anti-life culture of death.

Third, they are encouraging cancer and birth defects, promiscuity and fornication.

Fourth, they have not faced that in order to be a person working against evil in the world, they must leave entirely the path to evil.

Fifth, clergy who support these ideas are endangering their own souls.

Sixth, these situations weaken the Church, period.

I am not hopeful of the Pro-Life movements until those in power repent of supporting contraception and change their tactics

Lies about Ireland

A wise priest told me that the loss of Catholicism in Ireland started over 70 years ago. He was the first priest to be honest about the fact that the pro-abortion, pro-contraception Catholics are not post-Vatican II.

The problem came with the great influence of socialism and Marxism in the new Republican government. The problem as came in with very poor catechesis and the bad seminary training years ago.

The fact is, said this wise priest, that people never moved from a childhood religion to an adult appropriation of the Faith.

This priest said that the scandals were not the cause of the falling off, but the lack of Faith which preceded these.

The weak clergy is part of the lavender mafia. The sexual sins of the clergy and the people, including the acceptance of fornication, divorce, and contraception caused the present weakness.

Do not kid yourselves. Countries, nations take awhile to fall-one thing can cause the final tumble, but the problem is old, very old.

No one in the government who voted for abortion is being denied Communion.

Thank you, Father, for clarifying this issue.

See the labels.

37 Million Dollars and Ruined Lives

I am, frankly, tired of hearing that the sexual abuses cases are a result of Vatican II. This is simply not true. As a member of a family where four children were sexually abused in the 1930s and 1940s over years by a single priest who has access to hundreds of children, I can assure you this problem is old.

I am also tired of people asking me why my son did not join this diocese.

I am also grieved that some dioceses are still accepting homosexually inclined men into the seminaries, which I know of personally.

The sub-culture is strong and Michael Voris, Michael S. Rose, and others are not exaggerating.

Pray for your Church.

On Darkness and Light

Speaking with some friends yesterday, I mentioned that the reason people either hate us or become testy around us is that when we either go to work, or even to family gatherings, we are like light bulbs walking into a dark room.

The darkness of souls sees the lightness in us and either recoils, or attacks.

We should expect this, and be loving and kind and, most importantly, detached.

It is not US that these people in darkness are attacking or recoiling from, but CHRIST in us.

In fact, we have within us from baptism, the Indwelling of the Holy Trinity.

Can you imagine a soul in the darkness of sin and death, (a soul in mortal sin is a dead soul), facing the light that soul has decided not to follow? And, Dear Reader, there you stand, enlightened by the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

The Light is the Light of Christ's salvation and grace, which too many in Darkness now hate, as these people have chosen the Darkness.

No more do they desire the Light, but either fear it, or hate it, or both. Some, therefore, want to destroy the Light, as it shows them their very souls.

Pray for those people.

Pray that they are open to the Light.

Perfection Again and The Virtues

Thanks to Wiki for Painting

Some readers have asked about how to develop the virtues. I have parsed out some of Garrigou-Lagrange's advice in the perfection series. One can also use the labels of virtues.

There is another author I can highly recommend, but his book is difficult to find. The book is The Practice of Christian and Religious Perfection, published at Seville, 1609 by Father Alphonsus Rodriguez. Those of you who were following me after my time in the monastery on Cobh will remember me mentioning him.

I only have access to Vol II at this time, which I am borrowing, but I highly recommend the three volumes which was written not only for clergy, but for the laity.

The beauty of Rodriguez' approach is his practicality. I hope you can find it. There is a kindle book for Vols. I and II, I think. Thanks to readers for the links.

Saints for Life

I have written the perfection series because too many Catholics are not only not preparing for heaven, but not building the Kingdom of God.

If we do not allow God to purge our senses and our spirit, we are merely building our own kingdoms.

We can work, and work, and work in the Church, and the labor could just be ashes.

Unless we set aside our own goals, and unless we are no longer sinning and working on getting rid of concupiscence, we are not building God's kingdom, as we would be too blocked up with ourselves, that the gifts and virtues could not flow through us to the world.

Think of this. God has given you His own life in sanctifying grace. He has given you virtues and gifts. But, none of these are operative unless you are purified.

None can work unless we are humble.

St. Bernard rightly states that in the old Good Friday liturgy, Jews, heretics, and pagans were prayed for, but not the excommunicated Catholics.

Why?

We have been given the greatest gift on earth-membership in the Catholic Church. When we choose sin which is excommunicable, we throw that gift away.

When we choose to live in mortal sin, we cannot enter heaven, nor serve God, until we repent.

When we choose venial sin, we habitually weaken the work of the Church.

When we do not allow God to purify us of the tendency to sin, when we refuse to enter into the purgation of the Dark Night of the Senses and the Spirit, we lose out on entering the great Illuminative State of power and light.

In the Illuminative State, Benedict founded his order, Dominic stopped Albigensianism, Ignatius heard the voice of God teach him the Exercises.

Lasting, creative fruit which is orthodox, and builds up the one, holy, Catholic and apostolic Church, is a sign of the Illuminative State.

Let it happen in your lives or such ministries as you think are "yours" will implode into a pile of dust.

The Pro-Life movement both in England and in the States needs more saints, needs us all to be saints, not merely good media spokespersons, or politicians, or counselors, but saints.

Be a saint for life.
