My inlaws were just visiting us here in North Carolina (for 2 of our children's 1st Communion & another's Confirmation) & I was telling them about you (as one of my reasons they really need to read Fr. Z!). She grew up in Davenport (& worked for several parishes there, as well as the Diocesan paper, which they still receive by mail) & he's from West Liberty. They too say it's a miracle they somehow remained faithful to the Church (most of their siblings did not). If your travels ever bring you back this way anywhere near Charlotte, I'd love to chat over lunch sometime! :o)
I shall indeed. Right now I am in western England, and think of you all in the States. Hope we can have lunch sometime. I have never been to North Carolina, but love every other "southern state" I have visited. Love Virginia and West Virginia. God bless and keep the Faith. I might know your family members. The Catholic world is very small.
Do you have an email address connected with your blog? I didn't see a "contact" button anywhere & would love to tell you more about our family, I just didn't necessarily want it out there for all to see! We have an Arundel connection too, if I'm remembering correctly. :o)
When I click the M, it brings up a form to email your blog post to others, but there doesn't appear to be a way to email you. Am I missing something? Sorry for my technical ignorance...no wonder I haven't started my own blog yet! :oP
That's the problem, there's no email address to copy ~ it just has boxes for my name & email, one for "friend's email" (who I want to forward your post to), & one for a personal message. The only identifying characteristics are "Etheldredasplace" at the top & the title of the post (Where to find Catholics...) at the bottom.
I know! Here's an old address that's so full of spam already, it won't matter much if someone sees it: bibbles_bibs@yahoo.com (named for some funny little 'dinner jackets' I used to make when my kids were toddlers LOL). If you zip me a quick note there at your leisure, I can reply that way. Thanks & have a blessed Pentecost!

Eastern Iowa.
Jacob, I was born and grew up in Davenport, living there for the first 24 years of my life.
God bless you. Persevere. Move.
I'm coming from the center of Minnesota
Cool, I lived in Minneapolis-St Paul for years. Why are Midwesterners so intelligent....
